CAREER-THEMED BOOK SERIES FOR GIRLS MAKES NATIONAL DEBUT!

Downingtown, PA – May 5, 2009 – Downingtown author and entrepreneur Ellen Langas Campbell, president of NouSoma Communications, Inc., made one of her own dreams come true when she launched her series of books for children ages 8-12 on national television.

The Girls Know How® series, which encourages readers to explore careers, debuted as an exclusive three-book set (item #F06995) on QVC® April 23 during QVC This Morning.  During the presentation, Langas Campbell explained to host Pat James-DeMentri that each book features a girl presented with a challenge who is encouraged by an accomplished woman at the pinnacle of her career, a character based on a real-life successful woman.

“We hope to inspire children to follow their dreams by exposing them to a variety of careers, exceptional role models and characters who might be just like them,” said Langas Campbell.  An accomplished businesswoman, Langas Campbell previously was an original on-air host and corporate officer for QVC, Inc.

The following Saturday saw the national store debut of Smart Alex, the third book in the series that celebrates the world of teaching, at Barnes & Noble at Main Street at Exton.  Attended by dozens of kids, parents and teachers, the event featured a red carpet walk for V.I.T.s (Very Inspiring Teachers) and their students.  Kids enjoyed games, career exploration activities and a chance to meet the author.  In addition, five area career women were on hand to help the children learn about a variety of professions.

A highlight of the afternoon was the arrival of special honorees in a Sweet & Sassy pink limousine.  Nominated by their students, four teachers from local schools had their students read the nominations to the crowd, followed by a question and answer about a particular facet of his or her teaching career.

Girls Know How books, including Will Stephanie Get the Story?, which highlights journalism, Raising the Roof, a book focusing on the construction business, and Smart Alex are available via QVC.com, at Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com and other booksellers.
