TEACHERS AND STUDENTS INVITED TO WALK THE RED CARPET AT EXTON BARNES & NOBLE 4/25

Downingtown, PA – February 26, 2009 – Is there a teacher who inspired you to be the best you can be?  Teachers and their students are invited to walk the red carpet at Barnes & Noble at Main Street at Exton for the national launch of Smart Alex, the book that celebrates the wonderful world of teaching.  The event takes place on Saturday, April 25 at 2pm. (301 Main Street, Exton, 19341, 610-524-0103)

Students are encouraged to submit nominations in advance for their teachers to be considered V.I.T.s (Very Inspiring Teachers), although nomination is not required to participate.  All teachers who attend will be honored and receive special discounts for the day.  In addition, four will be chosen from amongst those nominated to receive prizes, and they and the students who nominated them will be selected to speak at the event! Nomination forms can be obtained by visiting www.girlsknowhow.com or calling 610-458-1580. The community is invited to attend the free event.

Career stations will be available for students to explore a variety of professions.  Guests also will  enjoy games, prizes and fun followed by a book signing by Downingtown author Ellen Langas Campbell.

Smart Alex is the third book in the popular Girls Know How® series that encourages readers ages 8 to 12 to pursue the careers of their dreams.  Each chapter book within the fiction series features a girl presented with a challenge who is encouraged by an accomplished woman at the pinnacle of her career, a character based on a real-life successful woman.

Two days prior to the event, the series will make its national TV debut on QVC® to coincide with “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work® Day,” a day dedicated to focusing on expanding future opportunities for all children, in both their work and family lives.

“We hope to inspire kids to follow their dreams by exposing them to a variety of careers, exceptional role models and characters who might be just like them,” says Langas Campbell, President of NouSoma Communications, Inc., Downingtown, PA.   An accomplished businesswoman, Langas Campbell previously was a popular on-air host and corporate officer for QVC.
